Pokhara, known as the “Tourist Capital of Nepal,” is the second-largest city in the Himalayan country, following Kathmandu. Situated at an elevation of over 900 meters, it is one of the highest cities and serves as the base for many renowned treks. The town’s highlight is its picturesque Lakeside area.
In line with its mission to “Empower Youths, Sustain Communities,” the Youth Thinkers’ Society in Pokhara has been hosting the Model United Nations annually. Since 2019, the organization has been organizing Provincial-level MUNs to provide a platform for in-depth discussions on global issues.
Following the success of the second Provincial-level MUN in 2023, the third edition, as part of the Road to EIMUN initiative, the Pokhara Model United Nations took place from May 24-26, 2024, in Pokhara. The conference featured 54 participants and focused on insightful debates on global matters.
